🌸 A Day in My Life as a Working Mom with a Toddler

Hi everyone! Welcome to a little peek into my daily life — where work, toddler giggles, cooking marathons, and a little self-care all dance together in a beautifully chaotic rhythm. ✨

If you're a mom juggling it all, I hope this brings you a little comfort (and a few ideas!) for your own journey.

🌞 5:30 AM – The Calm Before the Chaos

I wake up early, before the house stirs. The first few moments are for me — a glass of warm lemon water, a few deep breaths, and a quick stretch to shake off sleep. Some mornings, I squeeze in a short workout (hello, Zumba dance party!) to wake up happy.

🍳 6:00 AM – Kitchen Adventures Begin

Before my little one wakes up, I start prepping breakfast and lunch. I love preparing simple, nourishing meals — think veggie upma, sandwiches, or dosa batter ready to go.

Prepping in the morning gives me a huge sense of control over the day, and plus, it keeps things easy later when the "mom clock" ticks faster.

🧸 7:00 AM – Toddler Time

My little sunshine wakes up around 7. We have a cozy breakfast together (some days messy, some days magical!). Afterward, it’s a whirl of diaper changes, tiny outfit decisions, and a lot of convincing that shoes are indeed necessary. 😂

🎒 9:00 AM – School Drop-Off

We head out for school drop-off by 9:00 AM. Watching my toddler toddle into school, waving with that tiny hand, fills my heart with a mix of pride and a little longing.

💻 9:30 AM – Work Mode: ON

Back home, it’s work time! I settle into my laptop with a cup of tea. My work hours are precious, so I dive into emails, projects, and meetings with a focus that only a multitasking mom can master.

🏡 1:00 PM – School Pickup + Lunch Rush

School ends by 1:00 PM, and I pick up a tired but excited toddler, usually carrying a treasure (a rock, a leaf, or a very important crayon!).

Lunch is quick but hearty — rice, dal, and a veggie curry are our staples. Feeding a toddler is an adventure every day, and patience is truly the secret ingredient.

💤 2:00 PM – Nap Time = Focus Time

After lunch, it’s naptime! My toddler snoozes, and I slip back into work mode or sometimes catch up on chores. If I'm lucky, I sneak in some FRM exam reading — or just sit with a cup of coffee and breathe.

🏃‍♀️ 4:30 PM – Play, Walk, Laugh, Repeat

After nap, we head outside for some fresh air. Walks, playground time, or even dancing in the living room — it’s our time to move and laugh together.

🍛 6:00 PM – Dinner Prep and Family Time

As the evening sets in, I prepare a simple dinner — usually phulkas, a sabzi, and dal. Toddler helps by pulling out all the kitchen towels and "cooking" alongside me. It's messy and slow — but oh, so full of love.

🌙 8:00 PM – Wind Down

Bath, pajamas, a story or two, and then bedtime hugs. Once my toddler sleeps, I have a little time to myself: journaling, reading, or just watching the stars out the window.

✨ Final Thoughts

No two days look exactly the same — but the rhythm of love, laughter, patience, and purpose stays steady.Motherhood while working and managing a home isn't easy, but it’s beautiful in a way that words can barely capture.

Thank you for spending a day in my life with me! 🌸If you’re a working mom too, I'd love to hear about your daily rhythms in the comments!
